The Ekawsiykua Class Escort is one of the Aslan Hierates premier small military craft. While not too fast or possessing great jump range, it excels at convoy escort and commerce protection roles. Well armed, and like most Aslan military designs, very well armored in comparison to equivalent human designs. It epitomises the Aslan military ethic of resilience and endurance. Unfortunately, many examples of this class find their way into the arsenals of many pirate and bandit groups, and are often a threat to the vey shipping they are designed to protect.

The Ekawsiykua uses remote laser turrets and missle turrets to cut down on manning requirements. Usually one gunner runs all of the lasers, while two alternate gunners handle missle systems.

(Incidentally, the pictures for this design and the Ktiyhui class Courier in S&A were apparently mixed up. It is the Ktiyhui that is the flying pickle, and the Ekawsiykua that looks like the body-sculpted Hippo. Alas, Loren Wiseman apparently wasn't informed of this, and repeats the mistake in the Aslan GT Alien Module.)
