Huge, multi-million ton factory ships house Prege's population. The world has very rich deposits of platinum group metals that make it extremely important to the Regency economy. Competition for this wealth creates friction between the crews and dependents of each ship. Local traditions prevent open warfare, but skirmishing between smaller mining platforms and auxiliary units are a regular occurence. To further deter armed warfare, the ships are equipped with layers of armor, defensive armaments and armed escort aircraft. Denied the simple pleasures of armed conflict, the locals have developed an amazing repertoire of insults and pejorative statements to compensate.
