Gaagir is a pleasant water world that would have been a major population center if not for the fact that it consists of the private estates of the sector's nobility and old moneyed elites. The population lives on the Halkarash Archipelago, the only substantial land surface found on the world. Oceanic settlement and development are prohibited, and the local governments have substantial private security forces to ensure the pristinity of their private playground. The opening of the Frontier and related demographic shifts have put major pressure on local landholders to open Gaagir to offworld development, in particular multiworld cartels armed with enormous sums of money.
