Condamine has a single large continent divided by climate into two different zones. The northern half is cool and dry, and not very suited for agriculture. The southern half is tropical and moist, and boasts significant biological diversity. Two competing human cultures have arisen from this difference, PoliGov in the north possessing major industry, and a quasi- socialist social structure, and ShreveComb in the south pursuing libertarian pastoralism, and cutthroat business tactics. The two groups do not mix well, and stay out of each others' business outside of the downport. Imported gallowglass troops dominate both countries militaries, to better enforce a buffer zone between them.
