Gatooma was originally a common cause effort to unify the bickering governments of Bisistra. It is now a dying world, the economy severely damaged by the economic contractions of the Civil War and Collapse. The remaining population considers itself too tough to evacuate the world despite the "avid concerns" of the colonial government. The colonists suspect that Bisistra wants to liquidate their settlement because it is a unwanted drain on development funds that the colonial council would rather divert to the homeworld.
